The mysterious disappearance of the liner Waratah which left Durban for Cape Town on July 26, 1900, and which was never heard of again, list'. Ween recalled i>\ the recovery in Table Ray of a bottle, which apparently bad been a long time in the water. It was stopped with lead and contained 1 paper bearing the words, written mi pencil Send help, starving. Waratah on island in Antarctic ” The message is generally believed to be a hoax.
