Some English-bred horses, purchased by Mr V. Riddiford, are due to arrive in Wellington in a tew days. The speedy Gloaming continues to cause his trainer a deal of anxiety, on account of lameness, and his chance 1 of being at his best for the Trotting Cup is very remote Onyx has gone on exceptionally well in her work lately, and this New Brighton trained mare has many admirers for the Trotting Cup. The Australian-bred pacer Realm has done well lately and lie is in strong i favour for the Trotting Cup at preI sent. Pessimist, who has been under the ! care of J. N. Clarke, at New Brighton, i for some time past, has joined his i brother, Albert Cling, in J. Hender- | soil's Onmam stable.
