ASSOCIATION CRICKET TO BE PLAYED. The rain to-day caused a postponement of the Canterbury public schools’ athletic carnival and also of the bowling and City and Suburban cricket competitions. Association cricket is being played, and the ceremonial opening, of the boating season is being gone on with. The opening of the Lyttelton Bowling Club has been postponed until next Saturday. The Pennant bowling matches which were arranged for this afternoon will bo played on the completion of the matches in the draw, probably in January next. The motor-cycle races arranged to be held at North Beach this afternoon were postponed.
