“SNOW-WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS.”

OPERETTA IST CHR ISTOHURCH JUVENILE CHOIR The story of “ Snow-white and the Seven Dwarfs.” the pretty and spectacular operetta to be presented at the Choral Hall on November 7 and 8 by the Christchurch Juvenile Choir, under tile direction and conductorsliip of Mr Sydney Butler., L.R.A.M., is a fascinating one. It is a tale of jealousy among fairies. “Snow-white” is very beautiful, and a jealous queen orders Car! the Huntsman to kill her. Carl is afraid to carry out his terrible task, but takes ‘‘Snow-white” inti the woods and there leaves her to her fate. “ Snow-white ” is found by the forest children and is given refuge in the home of the dwarfs A. Prince Charming comes on the scene and ‘‘ Snow-white,” after escaping from further attempts on her life hv the queen, is happily wedded. The fairy operetta is presented in four acts, and in the final act in the palace grounds a pretty feature is the dance of the fairies and gnomes. The I dance was arranged by Miss Jarvis, of the Y.W.C.A. The part of •< Snowj white is taken T>v Miss Olga King. | whose voice is admirably suited for the j pretty soprano solos. Another excellent performer with a very promising ! voice, Miss Colleen Costelloe portrays | the role of the queen, and Miss Phyllis j Dingle and Miss Beta Fanils take the ! roles respectively of the Prince and : Carl the Huntsman. There is a large chorus of forest children, guomeg and dwarfs. The singing and supporting play will he very pleasing and entertaining. The box plan for the two nights will be opened at Robert Francis’s musical depot on Monday.
