Matthewson arrived from Dunedin last night, and are at the Clarendon. Mrs Fulton, with the Misses Wilkinson. of Christchurch, are staving at Cargen, Auckland. Mrs Drayton. West Coast, who habeen visiting her mother, Mrs H. Holland, litis returned home. Mr and Mrs Todd arrived from Auckland this morning on a visit to Christchurch. Mr and Mrs Taubamen arrived from Sydney this morning and are at Warner’s. Mrs G. S. Hutton and Lady Eveline Maude motored to Timaru yesterday to attend the polo. Miss Lulu Henderson arrives from Invercargill this evening and will b** the guest of Mrs Cyril Ward, Merivale Lane. The engagement is announced or Miss Margaret Lumsden, youngest daughter of Mrs A. The Carnival Dance Assembly held their weekly dance last Monday night in the Orange Hall, a large attendance being present The music was supplied by Fester’s Band. The dance will be repeated next Alonday, when a novelty waltzing competition will bo held. The competition will be a marble and spoon competition. Foster’s Band will be in attendance.
