Mr Speaker had called the member to order, but once jnore he discussed the position of a man whose position was notv at that stage before the House, and he was again requested to keep to the subject. Dr Thacker appeared to think that his rights were being curtailed, and be asked: “Do you want me to resume my seat?” “ I do not want the honourable member to resume his .seat,” replied Mr Speaker. “ so long as he knows how to behave himself when he is standing.” That did not please Dr Thacker: “ I look on that as a personal insult.” he declared. Soon afterwards, however the pefltioner to whom the member had de sired to refer came under consideration, and Dr Thacker rose to speak. “If I am going to be gagged and insulted.” he started, and was immediately called to order and informed that he must withdraw his words.
