VETERANS’ CLUB. The thirty-fifth annual meeting was held in the Y.M.C.A. rooms last night. Mr A. R. Hloxam was in the chair. The election of officers resulted as follows; President. Mr V. Cuthbert; vice-presidents, Messrs 11. B. Lane and A. R. Bloxam; captain. Mr A. E. White; vice-captain, Mr D. Avnott: secretary and treasurer, Mr E. Audibert . committee, Messrs J. Fleming, ( . W. Harris. P. D. Mansell, W. B. Fox, W. Henderson and F. Hubbard; selection committee, captain, vice-captain and secretary. The opening day was fixed for September 26. Y.M.O.A. (8.G.H.) CLUB. The annual meeting of this club was held on Saturday, with an attendance of over fortv members. The following offloors were elected: — Patron, Mr J. I>. Hall; president, Mr W. L. Thomas; vice-presidents, Messrs E. T. Dench. J. R. Sinclair, J. Newman Hall, T. VV. Reese and W. J. Deans; club captain. Mr Lea. R. Gordon; committee, Messrs E. J. Ward, L. Gordon, A. ?.laeDuff, M. Machuff, J. Dawson, R. Ellis and J. Klddey; secretary, Mr E. Ambrose. Votes of thamk3 were passed to the retiring officers, the donors of trophies, etc., and the Canterbury (.Ticket Aesooiafion for their generous support of boys' Tt was decided, ground conditions being favourable, to open the aeasou on October 7. The Boya’ Work Director, in presenting the report of tho past season’s activities, stated that the outstanding feauree had • been tho splendid record of the Fourth Grade team, which went through the competition without a. defeat., and the Fifth Grade team supplying two players to the under sixteen Canterbury representative * team. The club bate wore won by Fred Chappie, I<es Oordon and Joe Klddey. Altogether five teams, including a P. and T. team, played under tho Y.M.C.A. (8.G.H.) colours during the season, and everything indicated an even more successful run for 1922-23.
