FORMATION OF ASSOCIATION. The present interest in wrefitliutf has led to the formation in Auckland of the first registered wrestling association in New Zealand, the objects of which are:—(a) To promote and ;arrv out annual amateur championships and. when advisable, professional championships: (h) to govern and regulate amateur wrestling and profeswrestling in New Zealand: (c) to foster and encourage scientific wrestling in New Zealand; and (d) to exercise a general supervision over the sport in New Zealand. The first meeting of the association was held ‘in Auckland on c >mtember 20. The chair was occupied by Mr J. M. F. Connelly, and the following officers were elected: —Patron, his Excellency the Gov-ernor-General. Lord Jellicoe; president. Mr William Blomfield; vice-presidents, Messrs J. R. Anderßon (Palmerston North), Alexander Bain (Napier), John EnDuncan M. Simpson and William Eddowos; council, Messrs George Henning. J. H. Kinnear. V. Dunne, A. Adams, J. M. V. Connelly, C. A. Massey, W. W. G. Marshall and E. Stansfield: honorary secretary. Mr James A. Colledge: honorary treasurer. Mr -p. A. Mitchell; honorary auditor. Mr D. K. Garrard; honorary refere#. Mr William T. Coll edge. It was decided, that the executive should immediately inquire into the way« and means of engaging the Town Hall for the

purpose of holcliner a carnival as early as possible for amateur and professional
