STRAND THEATRE.

I “THE FOUR HORSEMEN OF THE ) APOCALYPSE.” On account of the great popularity of the famous Metro production, “ The Four Horsemen of tho Apocalypse ” which has been screened at the Strand Theatre during the past week, it has been decided by the management to extend the season for several more days. “ The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse ” is a screen version of Vincente Blasco Ibanez's book of the same name. The Metro Corporation has produced a masterpiece of the kinema and wherever the picture has been shown it has proved equally as popular as the book. The story of the “ Four i Horsemen of the Apocalypse,” is a stupendous ono in which happiness | and sorrow go arm in arm. One of the most astonishing spectacles is that of the Eeast and the Four Horsemen, Conquest, War, Famine and Death. Tho Beast is a spiked monstrosity belching forth fire and smoke. Each horseman is more terrible in aspect than the one before. Riding together they make a haunting and startling picture, and pave the way for what follows. The characters of the story work out their destinies in two hemispheres. From the Argentine with its far-flung ranges to tho capitals of Europe the characters in this great work of fiction are faithfully portrayed on the screen, as the story works out its tense human drama, against the background of a world in arms. The leading male part is played by tho popular actor, Rodolf Valentino, and the leading female part by Alice Terry. Both give fine portrayals of the characters entrusted to them and they are supported by a cast of over fifty prominent motion picture artists. Tho supporting players include Stuart Holmes, Mark Fenton, Harry Northrop, Wallace Beery, Bull ” Montana, Nigel de Bruitier, Mable Van Bruen, Joseph Swickard and Alan Hale.
