COLLEGE DANCE.

The members of the Sydney University football team, at present visiting ( hristchurch, were entertained Inst evening at a dance given in their honf our by the Canterbury University Col- { The dance took place in the Colj lege Hall which wae gaily decorated I tor ihe occasion, the lights being draped in shades of yellow, blue and red, I and streamers of gold paper were intertwined from light to light around the ! rooni - centre of the balcony, over the stage, streamers of gold and blue (Sydney Univercity colours) united below a cluster of wattle, the whole having a setting of fern leaves. The stage presented an attractive appearance, avuV attle »«d pot plants. VVillyams s Jazz Band supplied the music, and supper was laid in a largo marquee, the tables daintily decorated with vases of narcissi, tubs of palms and shrubs being placed along the walls. The ball committee who carried out the arrangements so successfully included Misses J. Aitken, K. Free J. Baker, Messrs R. J. Comrie, H.’ L Lucena, L. AV. M’Oaskill and D. Jeune (secretary).
