August 23. Bombs were thrown among a group of prisoners and their escort at Rallymullen, near Tralee. Ten prisoners and three of the escort were wounded, two of them critically. The Nationalist troops raided several premises in Dublin and seized a large quantity of chemicals used in the manufacture of explosives, including two tons of potassium chlorate, also five hundredweight T.N.T. Half a ton of the lnt ter explosive was found in o grocery shop in Drumandra.
