WEDDING.

LESTER—W ATKINSON. A very pretty wedding took place at Sc Mary’s Church, Addington, on August 16, when Mr Frank Jesse Lester, son of Mr and Mrs E. Lester, of Lyttelton. was married to Florence May, only daughter of Mr and Mrs 11. \\ atkinson, Rapanui, the officiating minis- | ter being the Rev Canon Bean. The | bride, who entered the church on the l arm of her father, wore a charming | gown of white charmouse satin embroid- j ered in pearls, with an overdress of cire I lace. She wore the customary veil, held i in position by a Russian coronet of I pearls and orauge blossoms, and #dio ' carried a shower bouquet of orchids and j freesias. The bridesmaid, Miss Nellie j Lester, wore a dainty frock of shell- j pink georgette with rosebud trimmings, j and hat of black crepe de chine. Little j Bernice Fleming, as flower girl, looked j sweet in a. simple frock of blue silk with touches of pink. The bridegroom | was attended by Mr Henry Lester as best man. The bride and bridegroom were the recipients of many handsome presents. A reception was held in the Selwyn Street Hall, and the usual toasts were honoured. The bride’s mother received the guests in a smart navy costume and nigger brown hat trimmed with blue. She carried a posy of freesias and violets. Amongst those present were:—Mr and Mrs E. Lester (mother and father of the bridegroom). Mr and Mrs H. Watkinson, Mr and Mrs T. Lester, Mr and Mrs W. Lester (Mayor and Mayoress of Lyttelton), Mrs Everett, Mrs Cason (Mata Mata), Mr and Mrs G. Lester, Mr and Mrs Sealey (Waddington), Mr and Mrs J. Fleming (Balcairn) and others. The happy couple left later for Akaroa, the bride's travelling dress being a dove grey gabardine with side panels and trimmings of merve silk. With it she wore a smart toque and veil to match.
