THREATENED STRIKE OF PLAYERS, by Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Reuter's Telegrams. (Received August 17, 1-1.10 a.m.) LONDON. August 16. A strike among professional footballers is threatened. The Rugby League Players’ Union passed a resolution that, if the League committee refuses to receive a deputation relative to a demand for better conditions. the members will withdraw their services at the opening of the season.
