Mr A. AY. Jamieson, general manager of the New Zealand Farmers’ Cooperative Association, who has been absent on a business tfip to the United States and Canada, returned to Christchurch to-day. For the North Canterbury ploughing match, to be held on Friday next on Mr J. Ashworth’s farm at Balcairn, there are twenty-four entries, the numbers in the different classes being:— Class A 4, B o. D 11, and E and F two each. t Mr H. F. Penlington has been selected as headmaster of the "VYharenui School. Air Penlington is at present headmaster at Fornlalron He was for eight years headmaster at (Taranaki), eight years headmaster at and for six years .senior assistant at Richmond School.
