It provides for a net reduction from the current estimates of 74.000.000 yen. The gross cut in construction and maintenance is 140,000.(300 yen. Hie Estimates include 65.000.000 for expenses for scrapping and reconstruction under the naval agreement. Tho estimates are : Ordinary. 117,000.000 yen. Extraordinary, 202.000.000 yen. The reductions in the personnel include 700 officers. 300 midshipmen, 3000 petty officers. 10.000 sailors. Approximately fourteen capital ships will be scrapped. The elimination of the portions planned in the construction programme will save 38.000.000 yen. The first year Estimates include :in animal expenditure of 7,500X00 yen for equipping ten capita" shins. air, submarines, explosives and naval aviation : 3.000.000 yen for maintenance, and 5.000.000 yen for fuel and oil for auxiliaries under construction.
