Christchurch was enveloped in a very thick fog this morning, and it was well on in the morning before the sun shone through. The afternoon was beautifully fine, hut at sunset the fog came up again :;s thick as ever. At .Lancaster Park the large crowd which assembled to see tlie T/inwood v. Marists football match had the novel expe?*ience of hardly being able to see the players during the closing stages of the game, and it was impossible to distinguish flayers.
