YESTERDAY’S EFFORT. Yesterday’s collection of funds for the civilian blind, arranged by the executive of the committee set up in Christchurch some weeks ago, was due largely to the organising abilities of the Aliases Wilson, who were in charge of the street collection, which, with the efforts of those ladies and of the ladies who sold badges, yielded about £426. The takings at the cake stall conducted by the Alayoress, who is president of the executive, will be supplemented by £4O, obtained from the raffles, for which the Boy Scouts did admirable work. RESULT OF RAFFLES. Holders of winning tickets in the raffles may obtain their prizes at Dr Thacker’s house, 25, Latimer Square.
