Baird, at present representing Warwick in the House of Commons, will be tho Unionist candidate at Ayr Burghs next election, in succession to Sir George Younger, who is little heard of politically lately. This is taken to indicate Sir George’s elevation to the peerage. Sir George Younger has represented Ayr Burghs since 1906. He is chairman if the Unionist Party Organisation, and was prominent in the recent move ment which led to Mr Lloyd George’s threat of resignation. He is a director of the National Rank of Scotland and the North British and Mercantile Insurance Company. Major Sir John L Baird has represented the Rugby division ofW Warwickshire since 1910.
