A later message states that the t' Utah ire struck east of Rosalie Bay in a eery wild spot with inaccessible chffsn The steamer had broken in two, and the stern had disappeared. The crew appeared to ho on the forward halt, which was still on the rocks. There was no chance of rescue except by a' line. A heavy sea was running. The Katoa wirelessed at 1.30 pm.: “ The chief officer reports that Wiltshire has broken in halves. He is endeavouring to make a connection with the ship.”
