ODDFELLOWSHIP.

GRAND MASTER ENTERTAINED. A complimentary conversazione was tendered by tho officers and members of tho Loyal Adding-ton Lodge. Manchester Unity, to Brother W. R. Gahagvn, Grand Master of tho Society, New Zealand, at the Oddfellows' Chambers op Friday evening-. JM'.G.M. Brother Walter .Tohnsou presided and with him were the guest and G.M Brother 11. Rollinson. North Canterbury District. There were als«» present P.G.M. Brother F. Wait. New Zealand Society, and G.M. Brother Sole. Ashburton District!, the district officers and members of the Management Committee of the North. Canterbury District. Brother J. Burgess (secretary to the U.F.S. Dispensary'. Mr Ironsides 'manager', representatives from the several lodges in the district. The chairman expressed the appreciation and pleasure that all felt at the honour which had been conferred <»»» Brother Oahagon. Complimentary reference was made by P.G.M. Brother F. W. Watt. N.Z. Branch. G.M. Brother H. Rol--lin son. P. P.G.M. Brother J. A. Clarke, G M. Brother Sole (Ashburton) and Brother J. Burgess to the wholehearted manner in which Brother Gahagen had worked for upwards of forty years for the Manchester Unity. Brother Gahagen thanked the members of his lodge for the honour tendered him. and also the several speakers and visiting officers and brethren tor tlieir appreciation of his past services. Referring to tlic future he said that be fully realised tho great responsibility of his office, but felt that with such experience his two years of office would be much easier than those of his predecessors. During tho evening a vocal and instrumental programme was rendered by the Loyal Volunteer Lodge Orchestra (0». Mieses Harris, Clarke and Edmonds. Messrs K. M'Leod and Spencer. Recitations by Miss Edmonds and Master Frank Otton. The accompanist was P.G Brother N. Gourlay.
