ST ALBANS V. RANGERS.

English Park was in excellent order for the above match, and there was little wind in evidence. There was a good attendance of spectators, who were treated to a fast and interesting game. St Albans won the toss, and Rangers kicked off, forcing a corner almost immediately, but from the kick Saints broke away. Lindley relieved, and St Albans again attacked, Colville beating Tupe close in. St Albans 1, Rangers 0. Fast exchanges followed until Bissett sent Barwell away on the right. The winger cut In and put across for Norman to level the score. St Albans 1, Rangers 1. Liddon made ground on the left for Rangers and put over a perfect centre. Western attaoked but Cummins relieved. Western returned. and from a corner Davey scored. Western 1, Nomads 0. Nomads attacked hotly and Frickleton drove, but the goalie saved. Another attempt just missed the net and Nomaaa. pressed, and Spencer shot past. Whittington forwarded, but Shaw was safe. Burnside centred well, and Frickleton just missed with a hard drive. Chappell was playing a fine back game for Western From a corner Wilson " fisted ” out. the ball going through from a rebound. Western 2, Nomads 1. Half-time was then called. On resuming Davey shot over and Western’s forward line were all playing well, ai d Ma.r-hn.il centred and Davey scored again. Vif tern 3, Nomads 1. SUNNYSIDE V. ASHBURTON.

The Hospital ground was in excellent order. Sunnyside won the toss and the visitors kicked off. Play was quickly transferred to the visitors’ line, Thomas putting in a clinking shot, which was well saved by Hankley. Then Newell and Lainont put in some good work for the Greens, a hot shot by Thomas just going outside the post. A splendid run by the visitors’ right wing was nipped in the bud by Wardell, who was playing a splendid game. The Green forwards swept down, but erratic shooting by Newell and Lainont lost several good chances. Shortly after this Newell put in a clinking shot which gave the visitors’ goalie no chance. Ashburton were now warming to their work, and after a good run on the right wing Safty equalised with a splendid shot. Half-time arrived with the score: Sunnyside 1, Ashburton 1. The second half commenced fast and vigorous, both goals being visited in turn, and after a splendid piece of headwork by C. Gibson on the left wing Newell scored for Sunnyside. From now on a lot : f heavy kicking by the backs of both sides was indulged in. No further score resulted. and the game ended shortly afterwards with the score: SUNNYSIDE .... TWO ASHBURTON .... ONE Mr Black controlled the game in an able manner.

CORINTHIANS V. * * LYTTELTON.

Playing at Hagley Park to-day Lyttelton kicked off against Corinthians. Hales came down the centre, but his shot went behind. Corinthians returned play, and W. Bruerton accepting a transfer put Corinthians l up. Give and take play followed until Hales broke away for Lyttelton, but he again put behind. Corinthians now asserted themselves, and a foul by Hennessy put the Whites in a scoring position, but Taylor saved well. Dpttelton came again, and Hales found the net, but was ruled off-side. From a free kick Corinthians put to goal, and Khouri headed through. Pilling made the scores: Corinthians 3, Lyttelton 0, just before half-time. Lyttelton were aggressive on resuming, and Perry punched a hot shot from Taylor over the bar. From right-wing play Lyttelton forced a corner, but Corinthians repulsed. Lyttelton kept up the attack, and from a nice wing movement Hale netted. Corinthians were now kept defending, and Hales again raced through and made the scores Corinthians 3. Lyttelton 2. Fast give and take play followed, but there was no further score when time was called. CORINTHIANS . . . THREE LYTTELTON .... TWO Mr H. W. Perryman was referee.

JUNIOR GAMES.

SECOND GRADE. St Albans won by default from Western. Excelsior won from Corinthians by default. THIRD GRADE. Playing at Hagley Park, Corinthians defeated St Albans by 11 to nil. The scorers were: Nelson (6), Fisher (3), Bird and Tanner. Mr Tanner was referee. Playing at Hagley Park, Y.M.C.A. defeated. Western by 2 to 1. For the winners the scorer was Norrie and for the losers Moorhouse. Mr Randle was reFOURTH GRADE. Playing at Hagley Park, St Albans defeated Roverß B by Bto 1. Mr M. Chappie was referee. Sumner defeated Western by 10 goals to one. For the winners Blackler (7), Ogier, Dacre and Merrett scored, and for the losers Young. Mr/H. J. Williams was referee. • FIFTH GRADE. Playing at Hagley Park, Western defeated St Albans by 5 goals to 3. For the winners the scorers were Sutherland, Perry, Lane, Chapman and D. Lee. ’and for the losers Armstrong, Cullen and Collville. Mr 11. Froggatt was referee At English Park, Technical defeated Y.M.C.A. by 5 goals to 1. W. Kingsford (2), O. Kingsford (2) and F. Kingsford scored for the winners, and Aitkinson for Y.M.C.A. Mr W.
