STEEL WORKS CLOSING.
OPERATING COSTS TOO HIGH By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received May 20. 11.45 a.m.) SYDNEY, May 20. The last of the mills at the Broken Hill Company’s steel works at Port Waratah will close next week. It is authoritatively stated that the company will not entertain thoughts of reopening the -works until wages and the price of coal are reduced.
