LYNCHING IN THE SOUTH.
NECRO BURNED AT STAKE. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Reuter’s Telegrams. NEW YORK, May 19. Two lynchings occurred in different parts of the south to-day. One was in Georgia, where a young negro was burned at the stake. After having robbed and killed a white postwoman he stole her automobile. Two thousand persons witnessed the lynching, various individuals shooting the negro while he burned.
Another negro was hanged in Texas. He was arrested for an alleged attack on a white girl. A posse sent out to find him after he had escaped from prison, later found him hanging to a tree.
