NEW BRIGHTON CLUB. The autumn meeting of the New Brighton Trotting Club was commenced to-day in fine weather, after a postponement from the previous day. on account of rain. The course was soft. Going along tho back Cousin Jenny and Merry Peter drew away together and Cousin Jenny won easily by a length. Ruby Lincoln was six lengths away, with White Lupin and Pete Peter next. Fernmoor and Energetic were soon out in front, with Beta's Greeting and Pedro Pronto at the head of the others. At the end of half a mile the leading pair were ten lengths clear of Pedro Pronto, who was followed by Reta's Greeting, Bing Boy and Progress. Turning into the back stretch Pedro Pronto joined Fernmoor in the lead, with Energetic, Bing Boy and Progress handy, while Edith Chimes was closing up. Pedro Pronto, Fernmoor, Bing Boy and Progress were in close order half a mile from home, but a little further on Pedro Pronto drew clear. Bing Boy closed up on reaching the straight, and in a good finish ho. beat the tiring Pedro Pronto by a head. Fernmoor was three lengths away, followed by Edith Chimes. Peter King and Progress. THixendale was first to show out and he led round the first turn from Emperor, lndra, Hayseed and Sympathy. At the end of half a mile Hayseed broke, Thixendale and Emperor going on from lndra and Sympathy. A little further on Onyx made a forward move and she was with the front division at the end of a mile, where Loganwood, Agathos and Vice Admiral were also handy. Turning into the back stretch Emperor was showing the way to lndra, with Thixendale and Sym pathy close up, at the head of a bunch, which included all but Bellfashion, Hayseed and Go Id.st ream, who were a long way back. Going along the back lndra ran to the front, and at the half-mile post he was four lengths clear of Sympathy, with Vice Admiral and Agathos next. Sympathy broke at the entrance to the Viw Admiral colliding with her. lndra easily held his place to the end, winning by six lengths from Agathos. who beat Onyx by three lengths, with Emperor and Loganwood at the head of the others. The last-named pair dropped hack after passing the half-mile post, but at the entrance to the straight Dillonshine joined Placid in the lead, with Progress and Olive Huon handy. Six furlongs from home Dillonshine was in trouble, Olive Huon going on with Placid. These two drew away together, and an exciting finish ended in favour of Placid by half a length. Outstep, who closed up over the last half mile, was six lengths away, with Oaknut next. Time—Placid 4min 50sec : Olive Hucn 4min 48 l-ssec; Outstep 4min 55seo. Going along the hack The Plumber joined t.he front quartette and a ftirlong further on he I was in charge. From this point The Plumber was r.ever troubled and he won by three lengths from Parole Bells, with Mangoutn. who finished fast, a length away. followed by Marvolo and I/ee Norris.
