The monthly meeting of the Board of Governors of the 51’Lean Institute was held yesterday afternoon; present: the Mayor (Dr Thacker, M.P.), Airs I. H. Wilson, the Rev TV. Ready ami Messrs G. A. V. Taffer, H. B. Sorensen and G. Harper. Accounts amounting to £2Bo 17s lOd were passed for payment. Tho chairman said that retrenchment was necessary and tlie hoard would have to consolidate the institute on a hotter basis. His opinion was that “ Quaraby ” should he sold and new and sufficient accommodation for all the guests provided at “Holly Lea.” The chairman produced plans of proposed alterations, which were considered in committee.
