BIGGEST BRITISH BILL. By Telegraph—Props Arhoclption Copyright Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. LONDON. May IG. The House of Commons has read a second time the Law and Proper! v Bill. The Solicitor-General. Mr Leslie Scott, described it as the biggest bill ever introduced into the house. “ It facilitates and cheapens deajings in land,"’ be said, “ simplifies conveyancing. assimilates real property to personal property and places women on the same footing as men in regard to succession in the ease of intestacy." The Solicitor-General paid a tribute io the great skill of the T.-ord Chancellor. Lord Birkenhead, owing to the results of which the Bill had been accepted by the law societies and otlie*s interested.
