April 18As a. result of the fire at the Imperial Hotel many prominent visitors were unable to attend the public functions owing to their dress clothes being destroyed among other belongings. The visitors rendered temporarily homeless by the fire have been packed into other hotels and the embassies. A Greek adventurer named M ilia ressy returned to the hotel to save his cat, and was burned to deathA previous message stated that the Imperial Hotel, the oldest and largest in Tokio, was destroyed by fire while the bulk of the guests were attending the Empress’s cherrv blossom garden party at which the Price of "Wales was a guest-
