N ELSON CON FE RENCE. (Per Press Association.) NELSON, April 15. The Nwr Zealand Conference of the Church of Christ under the Presidency of tlie Rev JT. l<«ng (Wellington) was opened to-day. The Foreign Mission report showed that there were eleven stations in Belingwe under the superintendence of Mr E. J. Phillip® (Nelson). During the year eighty-eight had heen baptised, and about fifty wero now in preparati on. The conference welcomed into the ministrv tlie Revs W. G-. Carpenter, B. G. Corlett, G- Ornwford and G. P. Outtus. A deputation from the Ministers’ Association, including the I>ean of Nelson (I>r Weeks) and the Rev Mr Blamires, extended congratulations to the retiring president, and welcomed the incoming president, the Rev David Cairns, Lower Hutt.
