ANNUAL CONFERENCE. TO-DAY’# BITTING. The conference resumed to-day, Mr A. W. Buxton (president) in the chair. A Southland remit, that the Government should he urged to take the necessary powers to deal with garden pests on tho same lines as with orchard pests, was moved by Mr T. 1). Lonnie, and seconded by Mr E. Hale. The remit was adopted, with one dissentient. The executive was authorised to register the association under tho Industrial and Provident Societies Act, if considered advisable, and to make the necessary alterations in the rules. A remit from the executive that when prices were being fixed it should be done as fur as possible by those who are growing and handling the different lines under review was adopted. The executive was authorised to arrange with the Fruitgrowers’ Federation in regard to supplying trees and alt goods connected with them.
