The first annual sports meeting of the boys of the St .Joseph's Home. Middleton, was held last Saturday, and some of the performances registered were of a very high standard. The programme was a fairly large one, there being nineteen senior events and fourteen junior. The S. Joseph's Home Challenge Cup. presented by Mr and Mr* W. E. Simes for tbe school champion, was won by J. M’Cort. with IS points. M’COrt. who also received a gold medal presented by Mrs F. Holland, was the winner -vf all the events, six in number, under . thirteen years These included 100yds. 220yd*. 440yds. in addition to the usual jumps. and his versatility shows him to be a promising athlete. Gerald Seymour (under fifteen) and Frank Birchfleld each gained 17 points and tied for second place.
