Dr T. L. Crooke is making a tour of th© southern Lakes district. He will be away from Christchurch for about two weeks. Archdeacon H- E. Ensor, vicar of Hororata, is taking tho Rev H. S. lieach’s place as vicar of St Barnabas, Fendaltqn, for a few weeks, and Mr Leach is at Hororata. Brigadier-General G. A. Travers, D. 5.0., C.M.G.. who arrivedin Sydney from London by th© Tt.AuS. Orsova recently, has planned a holiday tour ! in Now Zealand, and will arrive in Auckland hv th© Mokura. As a captain he served in the South African war. When the greater war broke out he was in command of the Devonshire Regiment. During the war ho look part in operations in the Suez Cana? zone, and subsequently in France*
