I low the new immigration law works out is shown in the curious case of an English woman, Mrs Mary Boyd, who, with her four children, arrived from England to join her husband, a British subject, who is a mining engineer in Arizona. The authorities permitted her to land, but the children, who were born in Australia, were unable to land the Australian quota for the month bernp; filled. The American Consul in London had given Mrs Boyd assurances that there would be no difficulty. The steamship company officials are indignant and have refused to permit the family to go to Ellis Island to suffer indignities, and an appeal has been sent to \\ ashington.
