MARAMA IN HEAVY SEAS.
GALE i N TASMAN. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, January 6. The Mnrama arrived at 6 a.m. to-day after a seven day trip from Sydney. The vessel ran into a heavy south-east gale shortly after leaving Sydney and the bad weather continued till noon on Tuesday. Several port holes were smashed and the cabins flooded and some passengers we*\3 shifted to temporary quarters. No material damage was done.
