Correspondent of “Times” Kidnapped
(Received January 6, 9.15 a.m.) LONDON, January 5. It has just been revealed that armed men yesterday captured Ray, the Dublin correspondent of the London “ Times,” in Leeson Street, and drove him away in a motor-car. The kidnappers warned a journalist accompanying Ray not to raise the alarm. He declared that Ray would not he hurt, and said he was wanted to refute the statement that Dail Eireann will discuss the matter.
