ADDINGTON YARDS.

THE METROPOLITAN MARKET. TO-DAY’S SALE. There were large yardings of stock at tho Metropolitan weekly market, at Addington to-day. Fat cattle were forward if large numbers and prices showed a decline ou late rates. There was also a larger yarding of store sheep, than has been the case at recent sales, and taken all round very fair prices were obtained. Between twelve and thirteen races of fat sheep were forward, considerably more than required by the butchers for a week. Fat iambs showed a decline in price. FAT CATTLE. The yarding of fat cattle was a large one and as a result prices showed a, decline on late rates. The sale was weak \ at tho start, and prices were 30a to 35s per head lower than those ruling a fortnight ago when, however, the entry was hardly sufficient to meet the requirements of a double market. Taken all round the quality was good, some very lino beasts being forward. STORE SHEEP. The entry of store sheep was considerably larger than has been the case at recent sales, each class being fairly evenly represented. A good many shorn sheep were forward. Bidding was fairly brisk throughout, especially for good-class wethers and hoggets, but the inquiry for owes and lambs was hardly as good.
