At a. meeting of the Canterbury School Committees’ Association last night Mr A. Peverill, the secretary, reported on the proceedings at the recent conference of representatives of school committees of the Dominion. He said that the Canterbury Association's remit regarding the attendance of children at picture shows had been withdrawn because of the report of the truant officer of the Canterbury Education Board that very few children were attending picture shows during school hours and becau.se the remit met with little sympathy from tho conference.
