NOTES. Tho Wairarapa trainer, P- Hazleman, was among the arrivals at Lyttelton to-day, with Zouave and Bonnie Heather. The hurdler, Maniahera, was brought south last night, by T. George. The jumpers Nicomar and Ore Ore were among to-day’s arrivals at Riccarton. J. Jamieson is expected at Riccarton to-morrow, with a team of three. The New Zealand Gup candidate, Rouen, arrived in charge of his trainer, A. AA'right. C. Pritchard arrived at Riccarton to-day with Esperance. TROTTING TRAINING N r GTES The track at Addington was in good order this morning and although there was not a lot of fast work dqne some was most interesting. The pacers Silver Nut and Vice-Ad-miral went a sound mile and a half, each pacing well throughout the journey. The Australian visitor. Jack Al*Kinney (driven by his owner) and Theseus went a. useful mile and a. half. The visitor is a small horse, but has a good style. Theseus looks very well. Schnapps worked two miles quite satisfactorily. The pony pacer is very well. Last year’s Cup winner Reta Peter set out over two miles with a. galloper for assistance, but he was not much good to the champion trotting mare, as he quite failed to keep up with her Reta Peter has come on a lot during the last week or so and her work out was of a highly imI pressive character. She went throughout in her fine free st3’le and showed no signs of making a 113' mistake. Soon after Reta Peter’s fine work out the trotter Whispering Willie went a similar distance, and in a little faster time. Whispering Willie has never looked better and ho is trotting in rare style at present. F Holmes’s Cup pair, Trix Pointer and Sherwood, were not worked out* their tasks being restricted to slow jogging. * r l he trotter Earl Derby was sent along at top speed, hut he did not go as well as anticipated. The trotter Alarvui Junior, who is very well, was not sent at top, but got through a useful task in a satisfactor 3' manner. Alangoutu, who is trotting in improved form, went a little more than a mile and a quarter in excellent style. This mare has only to keep her feet m a race to be prominent. Homeleigh Dick got through his alotfced task in his best style. The Australian bred trotter is very well. Bird-wood and Marie Tempest went about a mile and a half in a pleasing manner. The former was driven by Air Carter, the former owner of Man o’ War. E. AJ’Dermott sent Watchman a mile in saddle, and the work out was a useful one, the horse pacing freely throughout. At New Brighton Partner and Qujmefc, both in harness, went a useful two miles. The time was not fast, hut both horses paced well. King Karri, in saddle, led the pair over the last mile. a The Cup candidate. AA'illie Lincoln, is Looking quite at his best, but his task was confined to slow jogging . Gleaming has come on 41 lot during the last month, and now looks quite at his best.
