"STAR” SPECIAL FORECAST
The forecast is of weather conditions which may be expected to prevail during a period of twentyfour hours from 2.30 p.m. daily. CANTERBURY FORECAST. Wind.— West to south-west strong to a gale. Weather.—Stormy again shortly and very cold. Rain, hail and snow showers later. F. L. WOOLES. GOVERNMENT FORECAST. Wind.—The indications are for var‘sezoerq pus ojqui prevailing at times. Weather —Expect changeable and showery weather. The night will probably be very oold. Barometer.—Unsteady with a rising tendency. SNOW AT AKAROA, (“Special to the “Star.”) AKAROA, November 1. After a bright sunny day heavy rain set in last night, fully lin falling this morning. The hills around the harbour were covered with snow well down the spurs, and presented a glorious spectacle. Th© snow is now melting rapidly.
