BOYS FOR FARM WORK.

SOUTH AUSTRALIAN SCHEME By Telegraph-Press Association-Copyright. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received October 12, 9.35 a.m.) ADELAIDE. October 12. The Government has adopted a scheme for the introduction of 6000 boys from England as farjn apprentices, the boys to be between the ages of fifteen and eighteen. The apprenticeship will be for-a minimum of one year and a maximum of three years, during which the boys will be under the guardianship of the Commissioner of Crown Lands and will receive four shillings weekly. The remainder of their earnings will be paid to the Immigration Department and placed to their credit at 4$ per cent, interest, and paid to them at the age of twenty-one. They will be required to pay £26 as passage money, £lO prior to their departure and the balance to be advanced free of interest. A canvass is now being made of farmers and pastoralists to absorb tho lads.
