A SERIOUS CHARGE.

AUCKLAND, September 28A voung man named Stewart Christie pleaded not guilty and was committed for trial on a charge of an offence against - ' a thirteen-year-old girl at Powai. , Three charges of offences against a girl between twelve and sixteen were preferred against Alfred William Ruff Astle aged eighteen. The girl said she told accused that she would be seventeen next birthday, and counsel contended, that there was no case against him Accused pleaded not guilty and was committed for trial.
