PROGRESS LEAGUE TOUR.

(Per Press Association.) BLENHEIM, September 28. The delegation from the- Canterbury Progress League and the Chamber of Commerce, after an extensive tout* of the Sounds and district, concluded their visit to-night with a, public meeting, which was largely attended. The main subjects touched on were railway extension, hydro-electricity and West Coast Road. The unanimous conclusion of the delegation was the advisability of linking tip the whole of tho South Island to speak with a united voice on, matters affecting the interest of the whole island. Mr Holland remarked that the delegation ha.d been sent out to gather information and report to the Canterbury League, that body to formulate a policy acceptable t-o the northern portion of the South Island on matters affecting them. The party will leave in the morning for Kaikoura. en route to Christchurch. It i« proposed on the way to visit the Clarence and inspect the site of the head works of the proposed hydroelectric scheme for Marlborough, Nelson, South. Marlborough and North Canterbury.
