SERIES OF MOTIONS, At to-day*p meeting of the North Canterbury Farmers* Union it was resolved to endeavour to secure the right for farmers to give evidence before the Arbitration Court in regard to tho charges for killing freezing stock. A motion was carried urging tlm Government to postpone the date for paying laud tax to those unable to pay. and charge tho current late of interest on the unpaid amount. It was also resolved to urge an increase of the duty on luxuries, and increase on the amusement and totalisator tax. In connection with the wheat conference fixed for February next, it was resolved that if statistics then showed a surplus in sight it should be sold immediately at a fixed price, iu order to remove the danger of a glut.
