Colonel Carter Campbell has been appointed Military Governor of Belfast in supreme charge of the soldiery and constabulary. Orders have been issued for the immediate mobilisation of all grades of the special police. The Northern Government is organising a civic committee to work in conjunction with the police and military in various storm centres. Colonel Campbell has issued a proclamation prohibiting the assembly of three or four persons in any riot area. Extra troops have been drafted in to occupy the buildings in a ring round the disturbed zone.
