THE MARLBOROUGH VISIT [From Our Correspondent.] BLENHEIM, September 27. The Canterbury visitors were to-day the guests of the Marlborough Chamber of Commerce, being motored to Picton where they received a welcome from members of public bodies, after which the party embarked on a six hours’ launch tour. Numerous spots of interest on Queen Charlotte Sound were visited. Mr Holland, speaking on behalf of the party, said the trip had been very satisfactory. The' sounds only require to be better known to become more popular. The journey was ideal, and he supposed that not 10 per cent of the people of New Zealand realised the beauty and extensiveness of this charming place. Mr Marriner was impressed by the fertility of the country. Regarding tho bush scenery he observed that some of the reserves were very fine and tlie authorities who recommended the Government to save these places were to lie commended for their foresight. Forests in rocky mountains, he declared, were uninteresting in comparison with the beautiful Sounds bush. Tho whole party unanimously agreed that it was a most pleasant day and had been a revelation to them of the enormous possibilities of the Sounds,
