RAILWAY BALL.

The first railway annual ball was held in the Art Gallery last night and proved a most successful function. The ball-room, which was prettily decorated and filled with a gay throng of dancers, presented an animated sight during the grand march. The committee consisted of Alessrs S. Anderson, Hignett. Tull, King, Sadler, Jebb, Aletcalf, Al’Ewan, Wordsford and Fate. Messrs A. E. Hignett and L. Woodford were Al.C.’s. Amongst those present were; —Aliss E Cairns, pale blue taffeta; Airs Courtney, black satin, jade green and sequins; Aliss 1. Glover, black crepe de chine; Aliss Henry, rose pink satin and georgette; Airs Newth, pal mauve crepe de chine ; Aliss Simmons, coat frock, cloak dress and skirt, figured bodice; Aliss Rowse, mauve satin and georgette; Aliss Anderson. saxe bine taffetas and ninon; Aliss F. Cooke, jade green crepe de chine flounced skirt; Miss Cnpstiek, black satin with touches of red; Miss Alona Legge, white silk with green and silver trimmings; Airs Sadler, black satin, gold panel; Aliss Ironside, maize crepe de chine ; Miss AT. Bryant, white georgette over silk ; Airs W. F. Kemp, blue navy crepe de chine; Aliss Jordan, pnk georgette over satin; Airs P. G. King, shell pink satin and georgette; Airs V. Vincent, canary crepe de chine, gold trimmings; Alessrs S. Anderson, honorary secretary, V.AI.G., Jebb, Wordsford (2), Frat-es, Aletcalf, Al’Ewen, Sadler, Bosher. Watson, Alar shall, Leslie, AT’Nish, Halligan, Forsyth, Redding, Glover, Taylor and Lloyd. The music was supplied with its usual excellence by Aliss MacDonald’s Band.
