TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —The prevalence of iho big advertising hoarding is becoming a plague. Between tho Square and Healey Avenue, via Victoria Street, there is a regular epidemic. Why should these things bo forced on the eyes and minds of peaceful tram passengers and pedestrians? The advertising agent is getting too free a run in this beautiful city, and the hoardings ought to be dealt with. 1 would sooner look at an empty section than a blatant boost for Blue Blight Balm. There have been attempts to check this hoarding nuisance, hut it seems to grow. Who is handing out the permission with such a lavish hand?— 1 am. eto., PROTEST. Papanui, September 22.
