CRICKET.
+ i : , CULVER DEN CLUB. A meeting was held last Saturday in the Amuri Hall to revive cricket in the district. There was a large and enthusiastic gathering, and it wan determined to form a Cluverden Cricket. Club. There is a well laid cricket pitch, and a fair amount of material promised from the old Amuri Club, so there is every probability of some interesting games being played during the season. The following officers were elected:—Patroness, Mrs Duncan Rutherford; president, Mr Godfrey O. Rutherford; vice-presidents. Messrs M. Bethell, John -Eraser, L. It. Macfarlane, J. M’Millan and Adam Smith; captain. Mr James S. Kennedy; vice-captain, Mr John I- Harrison; committee, Messrs A. Parkinson, M. Brophy, Archie Hare, F. Robson, R. G. Jones, H. Hammond, D. T. Dalzell, F. Cassey and Frank Duncan; selection committee. Messrs J. Harrison, A. Parkingon and J. Kennedy; secretary and treasurer, Mr Alf. Fisher. It was decided to open the season in the Domain, Culvcrdcn, on Saturday, October Twenty-eight men signified their intention of becoming members, so that a successful season is assured.
