RICHMOND HILL GOLF CLUB

j BALL AT SUMNER, The first hall given, by members of the Richmond Hill Golf Club took place last evening in the Sumner Town Hall, and proved a delightful one. It was exceedingly well organised, the committee having considered every detail for the comfort and enjoyment of the dancers. The club’s colours, scarlet and black, appropriately predominated in the decorative scheme, long streamers in these colours being festooned overhead from a bell-shaped centre-piece. The electric lights were fringed with red and black. A large marquee, which was transformed into a comfortable lounge for between dances, was decorated with palms, and shrubs, the effect being most original. Aliss Macdonald’s orchestra supplied excellent music, which included some of the latest fox trot melodies. Several times the orchestra was applauded and encores ‘were demanded.
