HOW TO MAKE A GREY HAIR REMEDY.
Miss A. Adams, a well-known resident of East Perth, West Australia, who was called “ Mother,” and ” Grandmother,” because of her faded white hair, and who darkened it with a simple home-made mixture, recently made the following statement: ‘ £ Why, anyone can do as I did and throw ten or twenty years of age from their appearance. Just prepare this simple mixture at home, which quickly darkens the hair and makes it soft and glossy. To a half pint of water add one ounce of Bay Rum and a quarter ounce box of Orlex Compound, and a quarter ounce of Glycerine. The ingredients can be purchased at any chemist’s at trifling cost, and mixed at home to save unnecessary expense. Apply to the hair twice a week until the desired shade is obtained. Tt does discolour the scalp, is not sticky or greasy, and does not rub off.” 12
