POLICEMAN INJURED.
(Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, August- 6. Constable Hesse, of North Dunedin, sustained a broken arm and nine scalp wounds in an encounter with a man named Aitchison, to whose house he . went in answer to a complaint that J Aitchison was assaulting his wife. ‘After Hesse left the house Aitchison knocked him down, secured his baton, and boat him on the head. He disappeared, and no arrest has vet been made.
